Thank you for purchasing a ticket to our 2023 NT Writers Festival event, Morning Meditations – Uti Kulintjaku at 9am on Sat 3 June.
We are delighted to announce that the final line-up for this event will feature renowned artist and Uti Kulintjaku member Alison Milyika (Tjulapi) Carroll discussing the work of the Uti Kulintjaku Minymaku Collective. Audiences will be guided through meditations developed by the Uti Kulintjaku Collective in Pitjantjatjara and English, including recordings of meditations spoken by Tjulapi. Tjulapi will then discuss these meditations, the work of the Uti Kulintjaku Collective and the Pitjantjatjara words ‘kulintjaku/kulintja/kulini’, which combine concepts of listening and understanding.
Tjulapi will be appearing onstage with interpreter Kathy Tozer, and the session will be introduced by Dani Powell from NPY Women’s Council.
Tjulapi was scheduled to appear with her sister Pantjiti Lewis, but unfortunately Pantjiti is no longer able to appear at the festival. You can find out more about Tjulapi accomplishments as a leader and artist here.
